Jaded Path
On a random day, at a random time, the world was introduced to a pathogen: "Paths", discovered in certain early adolescents— "Pathos"— gifted them with supernatural-like abilities. Reito Usodachi, in spite of living in such a world, just wants to live a cushy, risk-free life. There's a small issue with that: he's unable to ignore that most of his peers— and foes— are Pathos. With a case of bad luck on the level of a pathogen itself, Reito finds himself trapped between his desire for freedom and the world's expectations for him. Leading this charge is the Pathos Cultivation Academy: a school designed to help Pathos lead fulfilling lives. But is Reito's definition of "fulfilling" the same as theirs? Either way, he'll do anything to create a relaxing life for him and his friend Shizuka— who's running from her past as an assassin— even if he has to fight for it.
