Tenchi Academy is renowned for more than just its outstanding academics - the school is also famous for shaping the finest sword fighters in the country through its all-girls boarding system. The prestigious "Sword Bearer" program challenges its students to take part in the epic and well-known Star Stealing competition, with rewards of wealth and glory at stake. Meet Kurogane Hayate, a bubbly and vivacious replacement for her injured sister Nagi, who is currently on the road to recovery. Determined to save her old orphanage, Dandelion Garden, from its massive debt to Yakuza gangsters, Hayate decides to settle down in Tenchi Academy and become a sword-bearer, hoping to seize the coveted Star Stealing prize. However, there's a snag in her plan - winning the Star Stealing requires a partner, and the girl Hayate has her eyes on is far from interested in teaming up with her!
