Marriage or career...a thought that crosses a woman's mind once she reaches a certain age. A classic work depicting the anxiety, loneliness, and unease of a woman in her 30s! The protagonist is Tokuko, a single woman in her 30s whose only redeeming quality is her diligence and dedication to her work. Day after day, she hones her sewing skills behind her sewing machine. A junior colleague she was close to gets married, and although she pretends to be happy, she is deeply shaken inside. Then she is called out by the man she secretly admires only to be told, "Actually, I have a fiancée, and I would like you to sew a wedding dress for her..." Tokuko's life has been nothing but working and building herself a career. She has never once been told "I love you" in her life. She feels hurt and sheds tears. Nevertheless, Tokuko sews the requested wedding dress. But because of her inner conflict, she maliciously adds a secret to the wedding dress...
